Doctor DougDoug Krause has been a professional musician and composer for several decades now. His characteristic writing and performing style comes from years spent moving between the pop/rock, blues, jazz, and country genres. As a youngster in Kansas, his dad introduced him to boogie-woogie records from the 1940s. As time went on, he began to notice the New Orleans piano sound and immersed himself in the study of New Orleans piano history. In 2019, Doug was inducted into the Kansas Music Hall of Fame, and he was honored in 2024 with an induction into the Colorado Country Music Hall of Fame. Doug's influences include Dr. John, The Band, Little Feat, Bruce Hornsby, and Leon Russell and the great NOLA piano tradition.

Dirty Shoes Band
Besides performing solo, Doug is the leader and primary songwriter for Dirty Shoes Band. The group has recorded two albums since 2024 as well as releasing two stand-alone singles. There is more information about DSB at dirtyshoesband.com and here.
